Asymmetric Health: Top-Ranked for Its Priority Searches Two Months After a Rebuilt Website

You've read case studies before, the kind with numbers nobody can check. This one names the clinic: Asymmetric Health, a physician-led Direct Primary Care clinic specializing in TRT, GLP-1-assisted medical weight loss, and BHRT in Lacey, WA. We rebuilt its slow WordPress site by hand and ran the SEO program under it, and every figure below has its source printed next to it.

Medical clinic SEO case study: the clinic

Who Asymmetric Health Is and How the Clinic Cares for Patients

Meet the clinic behind every number on this page: Dr. Ian Strand is the Clinical Director, and the practice has 500+ patients on a 5.0-star Google rating.

A Membership That Starts With a Paid Evaluation

A new patient starts with a paid evaluation, booked and paid for on the website, and continues as a member of the practice. That makes the website the front desk: a treatment page that answers the question and lets the patient book is the whole path to an appointment.

Home Market: Lacey, Olympia, Tumwater and Yelm

Its home market is Lacey, Olympia, Tumwater, and Yelm in Thurston County, the four towns where the local searches happen. That is where we pointed the program first.

In-Person Care Plus Telehealth

In-person care in Lacey, WA, plus telehealth across Washington.

Medical clinic SEO case study: the problem

A Slow WordPress Site Was Losing Local Patients to National Telehealth

Before 2026, a patient searching for GLP-1 care on their phone could easily miss Asymmetric Health altogether. When they did, the clinic's WordPress site loaded slowly, its treatments shared a handful of pages, and the Google Business Profile carried little more than its 5.0-star rating.

A person searching on their phone on a city street, the way most patients start looking for care
Most searches for a clinic start on a phone, not at a desk.

Before the rebuild, with the old website and marketing in place, Dr. Ian Strand watched a prospective patient who lived half a mile from the clinic search for GLP-1 care online and sign up with a provider in Colorado, because that is who Google showed. The program exists so the next search like that ends in Lacey.

Dr. Ian Strand, Clinical Director

That is the independent clinic's situation almost everywhere now. The clinic with the physician, the labs, and the in-person option loses the search to a brand with none of those, because the brand has a page for the search and the clinic does not.

Medical clinic SEO case study: the rebuild

The Hand-Coded Rebuild: Astro, Fraunces and Inter, a Checkout Connected to the Clinic's EHR

If you've ever waited on a plugin update to fix a slow page, you'll like this part: Taylor Rupe, our Co-Founder and CTO, rebuilt the site in Astro, which ships plain HTML with no page builder and no plugin layer between the patient and the page. It went live in April 2026.

Fraunces Headlines, Inter Body Text

Headings are set in Fraunces and body text in Inter, with a dark theme by default and a light toggle. Every treatment, from GLP-1 to BHRT, got its own page instead of sharing a handful of generic ones.

Checkout Connected to the Clinic's Hint EHR

The evaluation checkout is Hint's, the clinic's EHR, and we connected the site to it, so a purchase on the website creates the membership there without anyone retyping it.

Forms Track Their Source

Every form and checkout carries its source into inquiry tracking, which reads only the date and the source. That is how every inquiry gets counted by source.

Each treatment page opens with a plain definition, carries Dr. Ian Strand's byline, states the evaluation price, answers the common questions, and carries MedicalClinic and Physician schema. On 21 August 2026, PageSpeed Insights scored the mobile site 98 on performance and 100 on accessibility, best practices, and SEO.

Medical clinic SEO case study: the program

The SEO Program We Ran Under the New Site

Once the site was live we ran the same program every clinic gets, in the same order. Nothing here is exotic; it is the unglamorous work done completely, on a site that could carry it. The captures below show what that looked like in Google 2 months later.

  1. The Google Business Profile, Built Out Completely

Primary and secondary categories, every treatment in the services list, hours, the clinician, photos, and a review request cadence the front desk could keep. The 5.0-star rating was already there; the profile finally described what the clinic does.

  2. Healthcare Directory Citations That Match

Name, address, phone, and services set identically across the healthcare directories Google reads to confirm a clinic is real and where it is. Unglamorous, and part of what puts a Lacey profile in the Olympia map pack.

  3. City Pages for Olympia, Tumwater, and Yelm

One real page per town the clinic draws from, written for that town's patients rather than copied with the name swapped. The Yelm and Tumwater pages each rank on their own.

  4. A Page for Each Condition and Treatment

GLP-1-assisted medical weight loss, TRT, BHRT, peptide therapy, and ED treatment each got a page with a plain definition, Dr. Ian Strand's byline, pricing where the clinic publishes it, and FAQ markup. These are the pages Google's AI Overview quotes.

  5. Monthly Editorial Inside the Clinic's Compliance Rules

Articles answering the questions patients ask before they search for a clinic, written inside the clinic's rules for prescription compounds: facts about the service, never a promise about an outcome.

What the Google Results Looked Like Two Months In

These are live Google searches captured in July 2026, 2 months after the rebuilt site went live. We do not put a position number on any of them; positions move week to week and you can check them yourself. What the captures show is placement.

Top-ranked organically for the clinic's priority GLP-1, TRT, peptide therapy, and ED searches across its home market. Cited first by Google's AI Overview, by name, with its pricing. At the top of the map pack in Olympia for TRT and BHRT searches, ahead of clinics located in Olympia. The clinic has no office in Olympia, Yelm, or Tumwater; the pages and the profile did that.

We ran the searches again on September 9, 2026, nearly five months after launch, and kept the ones that still show the clinic at the top. Same rule: placement, never a position number. Two searches are new since July. For semaglutide in Lacey, Google's AI Overview names the clinic and no other; for hormone replacement in Lacey, the clinic leads the map pack.

Healthcare SEO results in traffic and inquiries

Organic Visits From Google More Than Doubled, and 156 Inquiries Were Counted From April Through August 2026

Two systems count what the program produces: Google Analytics 4 for visits and inquiry tracking for inquiries. The old-site window is October 2025 to January 2026; the new-site window is June to August 2026. Monthly averages, whole months only.

Monthly average Old site New site Change
Visits from Google 246 559 +127%
Total site visits 536 1,478 2.8x
Visits from ChatGPT about 5 30 135 sessions since launch

The organic figure is Google organic sessions by source and medium, with paid search and paid social excluded: 246 a month across the last four complete old-site months against 559 on the new site. Total visits are 2.8x, and paid social ran in some new-site months, so part of that total was bought traffic.

156 Inquiries From April Through August 2026, by Source

14

22

Inquiry tracking, April through August 2026.

The ChatGPT row is referral traffic from answers that named the clinic: about 5 visits a month became 30, and it now sends visitors most days. At that pace the clinic sees roughly 35 inquiries a month, and inquiry tracking reads only the date and the source of each one.

What This Medical Clinic SEO Case Study Means for Your Clinic

The pattern transfers and the numbers do not, which is the honest way to read any case study. Asymmetric Health won with assets national telehealth cannot copy: a named physician, labs, an in-person option, and published pricing. The program turned each one into a page Google and its AI Overview could quote.

3 to 6 months

Medical clinic SEO case study questions

Questions Clinic Owners Ask About This Case Study

About two months. The rebuilt site went live in April 2026 and the clinic was top-ranked for its priority searches by that summer; the screenshots on this page were taken in July 2026, after the fact, which is why the capture date is later than the result. We ran the searches again on September 9, 2026, and the placements that held are shown below the July set. That is faster than we plan for: in our experience, profile work moves in four to eight weeks, and organic pages take three to six months to move and nine to twelve to mature. Plan on the longer ranges.

It depends on three things: what you treat, how many locations you run, and how contested your market is. Ranking one clinic in Camas, WA is a different job from ranking a practice across King County, so we do not publish a rate card. The free SEO report is how we scope it, and you get a written quote before anything starts. One monthly fee then covers the whole program; the website build and Google Ads spend are the only separate lines.

Because the pieces only work together. Bought separately, local SEO, organic SEO, AI search, reviews, reporting, and content are six invoices from six vendors who never see each other's work. One bundled fee means the people who coded the site also write the treatment pages, run the profile, and count the inquiries.

The 127% figure is. It compares Google organic sessions by source and medium, with paid search and paid social excluded, across the last four complete months on the old site and June through August on the new one: 246 a month against 559. The 2.8x figure is total sessions, and paid social ran in some new-site months, so part of that is bought traffic. Of the 156 inquiries, 14 came from paid ads.

Inquiry tracking reads two things about each new inquiry: the date and the source. It never stores a name, a message, or anything clinical. That is how we can report 156 inquiries from April through August 2026 by website form, evaluation purchase, and paid ad.

Nobody can promise a ranking, and we do not. What transfers is the method: a fast hand-coded site, a complete Google Business Profile, a page for every treatment and town, and inquiries counted by source. What changes is your market, which is why the free SEO report comes first. It shows who holds your treatments' searches in your town before you spend anything.
